Wyndham
Wyndham calls itself the world’s largest hotel franchisor. Its ladder runs from Registry Collection and Wyndham Grand down to Super 8, Days Inn, and Travelodge, with a growing extended-stay bench. Selling a Wyndham-flagged hotel means a change-of-ownership application with the brand and, often, a PIP.

2018A Dallas hotel brand and a franchise company that found each other.
The Wyndham hotel brand started in Dallas in 1981, with developer Trammell Crow behind it. The company that runs Wyndham today has a different starting point: it was incorporated in 1990 as Hospitality Franchise Systems, set up to buy the Howard Johnson brand and the U.S. franchise rights to Ramada.
From 1997 to 2018 the hotel business sat inside Wyndham Worldwide and its predecessor. In 2018 Wyndham Hotels & Resorts completed its spin-off and listed on the New York Stock Exchange as an independent company, based in Parsippany, New Jersey.
Today Wyndham lists 25 hotel brands on its corporate site and ties them together with Wyndham Rewards. The center of gravity is midscale and economy, where a lot of owner-operators live. For a buyer, the flag sets the prototype, and the brand sets the terms of a sale: change of ownership, the application, and often a PIP.
What guests and buyers already associate with Wyndham
Economy and midscale, at scale
Super 8, Days Inn, Travelodge, Microtel, La Quinta, and Baymont are names guests and lenders already know. That makes a Wyndham flag a practical fit in markets where the buyer is an owner-operator.
Room to convert
Trademark Collection and Registry Collection let a hotel keep its own name and join Wyndham’s distribution. For an independent owner, that is a lighter step than a full prototype.
An extended-stay push
WaterWalk and ECHO Suites sit beside Hawthorn as Wyndham’s extended-stay brands. ECHO is new construction only, which tells a buyer something about land, cost per key, and timing.

Selling or buying a Wyndham-flagged hotel means a conversation with the brand: change of ownership, the franchise application, and often a PIP. The Kohler Team and Hospitality Sales Group help owners and buyers get through those steps, without sending you off to find a brand representative on your own.
